Alpha Crash on start

Hello All,

I did send my .dmp to Frontier.

So I just picked up the Alpha and after downloading/installing when I click `play` I get an `Elite Dangerous (Client)` window for a few moments then it crashes with the dialog to send the dmp. I could not find via the seach utility people with a similar issue - but perhaps my search-fu is weak.

specs:

OS: Win7 pro x64
CPU: ivy bridge i5 3.2 gHz
GPU: GTX 770
Mem: 1666 DDR3 8GB

I do have trackir and a saitex x52 HOTAS plugged in, in case interfacing with their drivers is triggering the crash.

Make sure you have the latest version of DirectX and the latest drivers for your Graphics card etc. installed. Some people have found that updating those fixes the issue.

If you have the latest graphics drivers installed - try un-installing them and re-installing them as a clean install so that all the settings are reset.

ETA: You should have access to the alpha forum - if not Contact support@zaonce.net and they can sort it out.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately after re-installing the current Nvidia drivers and running the most recent DX redist I still have the crash. Does the executable log anything?

I did create a ticket. But If i hit `Discussion Forum` from the launcher I get:

caryatid23, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

So, I'm not really sure how to find the Alpha forums.

I replied to this post about 20 minutes ago but it has not shown up [ not sure what is up with that? ]. Anyway, Re-install of drivers and DX did not solve the crash. I also do not seem to have access to some forums. For example, if I select `Discussion Forums` from the launcher I get a page with this text

Are there logs or anywhere I could get additional info about what may be triggering the crash?
