Alpha Is Out

Minti2

Deadly, But very fluffy...
Happy

Well first proper day in and i have to say ED is living up to expectations and more!

Am getting that nice familiar flying feeling to it even if its with the 360 and not keyboard like i originally did.
I think ive got the basics down to a tee, not before flying backwards however in the beginning and not realizing
but found the sweet spot some have gone on about and can see speed is not always the best, in fact i do more damage on the enemie going slow and turning.

Loving the allocation of power to different systems, makes it tactically more varied and tense, agree some sounds could be tweaked but most are fine, and graphics are drop dead lovely.

and the challenges are just perfect, hard but doable(is that a word? lol)

So very happy so far and surprised not finding any problems yet(early days perhaps?)
struggling with eighth mission(incursion) get most craft but i think the last Cobra craft? its very deadly at close quarters, think i need to use the rail-gun at a distance? we shall see.

After playing a few hours last night I have to say that I'm very impressed.
You feel as if you are actually there. The holographic displays in your ship are brilliant, the overall feeling I get from playing is superb.

I'm on a i7 with 16gig ram and 780 GTX, running the game at max setting in 1920x1080 and it runs flawless. Super high frame rate, no shutter or even a pot. :)

Oh yea, the sound effects are best I have experienced in a space sim period.

To anyone not in the alpha there should be no reason not to join, worth every penny. :D

The alpha footage looks totally amazing, I really dig the sound effects. Can't wait to see how this game turns out, very glad I paid into the beta!

Is it possible to upgrade my first round beta to get on the alpha testing? Got a spare £100 burning a hole in my pocket and can't think of a better way to spend it :D

No more backer upgrades are possible. They warned us that the store was going to go away and with it the ability to do upgrades awhile back- then they even gave us nearly an extra week past that date...

The only way to purchase now is through the new online store and Alpha access is weighing in at £200...

I was shocked, but I can't say they didn't warn me

They should have warned us how AWESOME that alpha was going to be.

Wow. Star citizen has nothing on this (and I am a backer there, too)

Feeling the same here... backed to Founder (£150) but still £200 now in the shop if I want to join in with Alpha rather than the £50 difference :(
