Newcomer / Intro Alpha private group for you to muck about in

I have created a private group in Odyssey using my Alpha mucking-about character. I have made it open to all so it is there is you want to get together with a mate to eradicate some scum.


Group is called Odette Poppins (I don't know if the game capitalises it, it shows in EDD in that "Title Case")


(I gave the character a daft name so I could easily track it in EDD - so don't tease. )

Nice idea, I tried joining the group, but I only seem to have the option to create a private group and not join or search for an existing group. Am I missing something?

What is your commander name in the Alpha as it didn't find Lister74?

I can find Odette Poppins and add as a friend but there's no join group option.

OK, it's there now. Did you have to accept a friend request from O-Ren?

Maybe it just needs a quit back to the menu but the option to join Odette is working fine now

I will probably join later today.

There is nothing daft about Odette.

It looks like the "Anyone can join" feature of PGs is broken. Perhaps someone can see if a) they can find the group Odette Poppins, b) find the commander Odette Poppins and c) is there a request to join private group available in either (a) or (b).

Perhaps alternatively (or additionally) can someone create their own PG, make it auto-approve and open to anyone and let me know the name (by DM here if you prefer) and I'll investigate from my end.

Should this prove broken I will raise an "issue" on their tracker.

Similar yes. Had to be an accepted friend invite before able to join the group iirc.
Incidentally, the group "Tyres O'Flaherty" gas been ported over to Odyssey it seems...

So it looks like this setting doesn't work:

Search for Tyres O'Flaherty produced no results so the "all players" bit isn't working.

So much for having a convenient PG for the newcomer's forumites to nip in and out of. ¯\(ツ)/¯

Ah. Mea culpa. I did a clear save on Tyre's in Odyssey. Sorry for confusion!

However, what is really odd is that O-Ren Ishii is a plyer group and I'm pretty sure I didn't set that up. That could be an ailing memory on my part though. Christ, I think I'm losing the plot...

I find Odette and have options to send a friend request and join the group. I did them in that order and am now logged in the game in the group.

I think after you have forced the first other player into the group the automatic process works from then on.
