Alpha running on my netbook :D!

I just tried something lunatic while I was at work, and installed the alpha on mu2 year old acer aspire one netbook.

It's on low settings at 1024x768 resolution and it runs well enough to gad about in mission 1 at least !

Bottom line is, if you have alpha access and are worried that your rig won't run it, give it a go!

EDIT at 800 x 480 it runs even "better" ! And it's an 11 inch screen, so looks ok

Humm I don't know because this build is only about dogfighting ... perhaps it will be hard to play on a basic laptop with the next build (alpha / beta / gamma) ...

Yeah it may struggle in later missions. Bear in mind that the Alpha is a series of limited combat scenarios. Although the code is not fully optimised I would have my doubts about a basic laptop coping with a busy system like Earth in the full game.

My Mrs has one of those and that's some achievement because it's decidedly anemic. If so, your average gaming computer should eat anything this game can throw at it.

On my work Dell Precision Workstation with a Nvidia Quadro card I was getting single digit framerates and could hardly get past the menus let alone play the game.

No sorry you need to be online to play it I'm afraid. You can't play it on the train unless the train has net access.
