Already wanted, second shot!

I hop in to my shiny new Sidewinder. Tweak my control map on the X-55 a bit since stuff always changes from beta to beta. Oh, I'm in some random place in the galaxy, cool. So, I hop to a new area, start scanning stuff. Awesome, us explorers can finally do something! Find a couple wanted guys fighting with the cops, so I decide to help. Put a laser blast in one cop by accident. Still doing that fly right in front of me and the bad guy, I see. 400cr fine, and now I'm wanted by the feds! Sigh, played since beta launch in July, total Boy Scout, never wanted, and never went after even Wanted pilots, only defended myself if I got jumped. And boom, my second shot in the 'final, for realz, yo' version of the game, Wanted status. And, I have no money so I can't pay the fine, nor pick up jobs since the feds now hate me. Guess I'll have to find another faction somewhere fast before that fine starts doubling every few hours...and here my first real goal was to just travel to Sol...heh.

(This sounds negative, but it's not, it's fun! Just goes to show how open the game world is, and that mistakes to mean something!)

Plus, it was really cool to zoom the map out and look at that! The whole dang Milky Way is now 'available' to explore! Sweetness!

I know the feelin'. Hopped to M.Gorbachev from founder's world in 6 jumps in a Cobra and took a cargo mission to Sirius straight away.. only to find out i need a permit to get there.. Cancelled the mission, got a 5k fine as a result. Alright, i thought, better dump that cargo then, since it was marked as stolen and i don't know of any black markets around SOL yet.. I exit the station and cops scan me, adding another 5k. On top of that, two of them decide to attack me and i barely escape with 30% of the hull undamaged. Phew.. After few hours, some exploration, trading, bounty hunting i managed to get 10k, which i am going to pay off to the authorities. What a start.. At least i am alive.

Yeah, I don't really mind the fine, I wish it was applied on a second shot though. I did even pull up coms, hoping to see a 'Sorry, Officer!' entry, but no luck.

Now, I do think it's pretty messed up that the cops instantly start firing on me, and let the two original Wanted guys get away. I suppose that makes a little sense, some new ship jumps in and starts shooting. But...I dunno. Guess I'll go back to Boy Scout mode and not help the locals out.

Anyway, about to log back in and try to earn some creds to pay off that fine. Fingers crossed it hasn't jumped from 400cr to 40,000 creds.....

Well, that wasn't too bad. Got lucky with a 'take this harvesters to that system next door' quick hop to net 8K. Sold some of my scan data as well. Paid off my fine. Then, got pulled out of frameshift by a Wanted Cobra. Smoked him for another 730 bounty. No cops around this time to mess it up! Heh.

Great game, loving Gamma! Nice to see the commodities at resonable prices and profits, and I am really enjoying flying around new systems scanning planets.
