We are back in the start
I think we should be more like the 4th man from the left. They had it pretty good you know.
We often think like them as primitives. That somehow our technologies make us happy or better off. And then you get the argument that if you believe that, you cannot eat a headache pill because that would make you a hypocrite.
It is a fact though, that so called 'primitive societies' work less hours per day than we do in the industrialized world. We tend to think of old times in terms of medievalism, where people toiled and dug around in the mud for some meager existence. That is a false impression it turns out.
Even in medieval times people worked less hours per day. In the Amazon people go out for a hunt, gather some fruit for a couple of hours and then enjoy the preparation of the food and engage in community building activities.
