The new evacuation operations are a fantastic addition and incredibly rewarding, but let's see if we can add a few more alternate versions to really spice things up. I propose the following, which I believe is possible with the current game engine.
A station in close orbit of a planet has been attacked/sabotaged and has lost orbital control- it is now in a rapidly decaying orbit. A message is broadcast to CMDRs to help the evacuation of the hundreds of thousands of inhabitants before the station enters the atmosphere in one week. As the station gets closer to the exclusion zone over the course of the week, it starts to overheat, becoming catastrophically hot by the last day of the week, causing fires, explosions, and panic amongst the inhabitants. There is a chance that all inhabitants can be saved, but it is also likely that some inhabitants will not be able to be rescued, and are doomed to ride the station into atmosphere. If everyone is saved, there is no lasting damage to the local economy.
Do you think it's possible? Are there any other scenarios that you would like to see?
