Alternative controls, additional buttons

With the release date looming (I've got it on pre-order), I've been prepping;

Game and Thrustmaster T Flight coming for my birthday, ED tracker built and ready to go, now reading everything I can.

Aware that the TM T Flight will not have enough buttons to cope with everything, I was wondering what people were using besides the keyboard for the many buttons required for the game (I don't want to spend a fortune)?
I thought of USB keypads with labels, etc but I saw this http://touchpilot.com/touch-pilot-one/ and thought this would be the ideal solution if there was a space sim if not Elite specific equivalent.

Thoughts and suggestions most appreciated, thanks.

Voiceattack seems popular from what I've read, you'll have to search for it though as I'm too noob to be allowed to link to it ;-)

I'm at much the same stage as you. Preordered game, T-Flight arrived, Edtracker to be built this week.

I bought a cheap (£20) typist's pedals.. basically three mappable keyboard keys on the floor... it works pretty well for accelerate, decelerate... and my favourite holding the left pedal down for flight assist off

that and an xbox360 pad works well for how I play

Yes, T Flight HOTAS; I've seen some interesting maps for that, but I guess I'll need to have a play with different setups.

So looking forward to getting up and running ... The 6 days between release and birthday are going to be a nightmare!
