Alternative Mission objectives?

What gives? They're pointless and often have zero incentive to accomplish, offering sometimes next to nothing in comparison to the reward for just completely the normal objective. I was bounty hunting pirates the other day and took a mission that offered around 250k to kill 7 pirates, I get a message to follow an NPC and figured for once, sure why not. This is where it gets hilarious in my opinion these guys offered me something like 11k 1/25th of the original mission objective reward to go kill 3 Authority Personnel, so not only am I getting almost nothing for this mission I will have an 18k bounty on my head afterwards. Please fix this, at least make the reward offered more than or at the very least close to the original reward for having my time wasted having to listen to a deal so insulting that I contemplate killing the guy.

Edit: its also equally as terrible for trading, I'm like 10LS away from my target station and again, sure I'll hear this guy out. The reward unfortunately wasn't shown, it was only a 25k mission to begin with so I figure to hell with it why not. Sure enough the reward is barely over 8k less than freaking half the original reward but now I have to travel an additional 1000LS to drop the crap off. Very disappointed with the alternative mission offers.

Agreed, i just ignore them now when they pop up. Its a shame, they could do good things with this to make missions a bit more interesting.

I got a decent one for an assassination mission the other day; the bounty was 100k for a pirate, got offered by an NPC 300k for a betrayal assassination. It ended up being about the same after the bounties, but it was maybe the first time I had one that actually made me consider accepting for monetary reasons. Other times, I've accepted an alternate mission just to off the faction.

You know if I'm going to get a counter mission to go kill Authority Members from the Pirates I'm hunting the payout should in my opinion be at least double to

1: Incentivize the decision

2: To cover the fact that I'll be wanted for the next 7 days, making RES bounty hunting pretty much impossible in that area that is if they're RES to begin with.
