Alternative SLF Hangar Module: Forcefield Assisted Cargo Scoop

After my first attempt in a long time, to dock with an imperial fighter on my corvette,
i noticed that those blue rectangles extending from the bay, are actually forcefields that either push or pull you around.

although, in beta, the big space dredger featured the same kind of forcefield technology to pull in asteroids int their shredder mouth.

now my suggestion:

could we have an alternative equipment module for ships with an SLF bay, that repurposes the bay into such a space-vaccuum device to pick up cargo and mined fragments without the need to target them?
all it needs is a bit more range (like 50m) and in terms of control, replacing the regular cargo scoop.

to spice it up, i would restrict it to Lakon ships only (in other words, Keelback and T9 at this moment)

reason:
this would boost the uniqueness of BOTH ships.
The Keelback would turn into a great low-cost choice for piracy and mining,
the T9 would be an alternative for high-end mining.

both would be able to mass-scoop cargo up without sacrificing lots of internals for collector limpet controller. instead they sacrifice their fighter escort.

I don't think the guidance holo is a forcefield. It has never moved me one way or the other. Try going at it from the side and you'll see it's actually just a hologram. The 'guidance' is merely your fighter's autopilot kicking in to bring it into the bay when you come in at the correct angle and speed. Getting shot out of your bay when you launch is your fighter boosting as it's engine kicks on. Such a device would likely require A LOT of power, hence why it's only on a megaship and nothing smaller. Something with a reactor the size of a station's.

I would, however, like to see a NEW ship with such a device, but not replacing an SLF bay. Something with such a device built in, much like the dredger, but built specifically for that purpose.

Isn't that what collection limpets are for? I'd personally wish for an exclusion/inclusion option for these limpets that would ignore or only focus on...certain collectable limpet items. Maybe that would make things easier?

as described in the op - i noticed a pull when a missplaced my imperial fighter within the field... i only managed to turn my fighter shortly before it lost shields from scratching against the hull of the corvette.

The "pull" is simply your landing sequence automatically drawing you in. And we already have space vacuums...theyre called limpets.
