Alternatives to 'main Street' entrance

That entrance area is stunning. Very unique and I love the detail. Trying to mix up a park entrance and create something different than a typical linear Main Street presents some creative opportunities and it'll be cool to push myself away from the more traditional design. The challenge will be creating a space large enough to manage the large flow of people that occupy the area at any given time.

I've been meaning to do an indoor entrance which consists of one large building which has a multitude of shops (and maybe even an indoor ride) inside. It would be something which would be architecturally quite interesting looking (because of it's scale) and maybe have 3 or 4 paths which lead out of the building and into the park.

Something i'm trying right now is having a more natural flow of areas. So you enter the park at a beach and the park just sprawls out in front of you with a couple of large paths. As you move away from the beach you enter a small village which slowly transitions from thatch to tile, and later elements of castle like buildings (though still 1/2 story only). Finally behind those looms two castles. One is dark and surrounded by dead trees, the witches castle. The other has grand gardens, a lush array of greenery and bright grand flags, it is of course the princesses castle. They are all looking like real little towns, with a scattering of buildings and shops, plenty to explore. As such they blend more naturally.

I tend to do more of a nature-oriented entrance. The one I'm playing with now has lots of trees and shrubbery, more like a park than a theme park, branching out into themed sections such as an "industrial" section, etc.
