Always a Second USS?

I've noticed, every time I hone in on a USS, shortly after that, a second USS appears, to the top left.... whassup widdat? And should I go for the second one or the first?

Meh, i think its just rng to what u find in it. If i need to hunt USS for whatever reason, i just set speed to 30km/s, then all the USS that pop up will be in range to jump out of sc :)

Kind of odd, that every single time I head towards one, a second one appears above, to the left, and behind it... doesn't seem random.

I think its probably a gameplay bug. I've noticed that for some reason. Some USs's spawn ships jumping into sc just as they do from the nav beacon. If I'm on a retrieval mission. Black box etc. I know not to pick that one and choose the second USS that's appeared

I think the USS thing should be refined more, as right now it just serves as a random encounter, often times weighted to give you what your mission asks for. The missions stuff frankly should be more directed so you have an idea where to look, and maybe them use USS in those and only those places. But back to my point on refining...why can't we scan these USSs and get some idea of what to expect? We're getting a signal, can we not use our tech to see if it's a ship, distress signal, explosion remnants, container beacons? At least it would feel a bit more realistic, and give you some reason for steering over to them if you aren't on a mission that needs it.

Totally agree, it should indeed be like this.

I read about one guy who visited nearly 100 US (several hours) and did not find his 'mark' - the timer expired. That sucks. It's dumb gameplay having them random like this...especially when the 'randomness' goes against you.
