Am I entitled to join the beta

I read the rewards as you join in at the standard Beta point. Which is the end of this month. Should be fun, see you there.

If feasible I’d recommend upgrading, forgive me but I believe you qualify for a very favourable outlay. Acclimating and play-testing is truly invaluable, half the battle is customising controller configurations to suit your game-play. Try logging into Zaonce store using the same credentials as the backer app to check your specific upgrade options. Take care and Elite!

As I'll be glued to the Tour de France for the next 3 weeks methinks I won't bother upgrading and I'll wait until the 29th.

Yes, but for the extra 10 pounds, you'll get the expansion pass (if you can upgrade)... if you just get the Standard Beta in 3 weeks time, the expansion pass will only be available as a separate item up until the 29th July (and at $50). After that, if you haven't already got the expansion pass, you'll have to pay for any/all future expansions, should you wish to add them to your basic ED game.
An extra tenner is less than a round of beers for your mates, a no brainer, get it done, you will love what they have achieved already, I do, despite seemingly learning everything the hard way I am having tons of fun and awe in equal measures between the frustration moments, make me a better player in the long run I hope

Am I missing something here how can he upgrade for £10? He has standard beta at the moment which is worth £50. So to upgrade to the premium beta plus expansion pass it would cost him another £50. Which IMO is not worth it just for a few undefined free expansions (of which only one is remotely interesting) that may or may not come and may or may not cost more than £5 each when they do come. Plus he will be able to play the game in a couple of weeks anyway. Nonsense. Especially when you consider he's already spent £90 on a game that will probably retail for under £30 in a few months.

In paris, £10 will get you ONE beer. If you're lucky. I hear its around £17 a pint in sweden though.

Nope. You'll have access to Beta, Gamma and release versions.
