Am i ready for elite Hardware wise?

Hey everyone i built this pc to hopefully beast elite at 1080p no higher i wont be using crazy options like super sampling and the only anti aliasing ill use is fxaa prob wont end up using anytho tho here are my specs.

Gtx 780 3 gigs oc eddtion factory overclocked

windows 7 64 bit

16 gigabytes pf 1600mhz ram

amd fx 8350 4.2 ghz turbo with a stable overlock of 4.5 ghz

do you guys think im good to go for elite and its expansion bought the beta at first couldnt resist the expansion pass tho so upgraded to premium beta!:) Havent had much to time to delve in im off work for 3 weeks so i plan to really get going

do you guys think i could get away with max settings with no :) and i dont mean the crazzy stuff just view dstiance textures ect all the basic stuff to turn up

thanks guys!

I think this rig is quite capable of running ED in awesome quality. The engine is already quite optimized (except the stuttering near big planets in supercruise, which is promised to be dealt with in final release)
Hell, I am running it on an three years old laptop with Sandy Bridge i7, 8GB ram and 1.5GB GTX 460M on FullHD with medium details and it stays over 30FPS.

I think you're more than ready.

That is, if you also happen to have at least a HOTAS and TrackIR, which make this game zillion times awesomer. :D

AMD FX 6300, 8 Gig 1333, GTX 650Ti on windows 8 here and with everything at medium ( shadows off, no AA) i can play at 40+ FPS pretty much constantly apart from stuttering near certain planets etc which seems to be a known issue for all, so id guess youl be fine with the details you want.

Awesome! Thanks both of you how is it looking on medium I bet even on ,low it would still look great! And yes def looking into HOTAS before full release in December ! How are you fellows enjoying elite any tips on someone who's diving in for the first Time ?:)

I have not tried the low setting out as there has been no need too :D, i can say that at medium it still looks great. Ummm the advice i would give is to first of all remember its a beta, it will crash from time to time and you will get disconnected, don't let it annoy you it is to be expected :)... gameplay wise id suggest patience and thinking to be your best friends, its not a traditional MMO where the game tells you what to do and where to go.... its literally gives you the basics and then releases you into the galaxy.
Hauling is the most efficient way to make money imo atm but i have only "dabbled" with piracy/bounties etc but literally you can do whatever you want :) certainly a welcome change from the usual games of "your the only hero in town, go kill 20 rabbits and bring their skins to me".... in this it asks you to haul things or get stuff for them sure.... but you aint no hero and youl die like the rest if needs be, the added bonus with this tho is that you collecting the items effects the world...after you have brought the stuff they wanted, the demand for that item changes a bit and eventually they dont need it anymore and thats the bit i like the most. (this is just my version of the game tho, this is certainly a game where you, the player, make the game feel how you want, effectively all ED does is offer you a huge playground and says... go have fun)

I'm running an I5 4690, GTX 770 2GB OC and 8GB DDR3 on Win8.1. Other than inexplicable stutters around some planets in SC (known bug due to be fixed soonish), it's a constant 60 fps with v-sync on absolute max detail at 1080p. So I expect you'll do just fine on your machine. Incidentally, my old Radeon 6850 1GB card ran it ok too. It bottomed out at around 30 fps in stations but typically ran at 50-60 fps on medium-high detail at 1080p.

Awesome build buddy! :) how is windows 8.1 btw i heard the 770 you get good bang for your buck! im gona wait till the 1000 serise hits to upgrade and really :O my buddy said right now hes using his old phenom 955 4 gigs and a radeon 6770 1 gig card medium with some high settings bumped up he said stations he goes down to about 32 but everything else is around 50 or above its seems elite will scale to low and entry level to the monstermachines very welll

and thank you namix i probbaly will work towards a basic trading ship!:) just to make extra money any of you guys mind joining me sometime?:) just started playing

Win8.1 was more annoying to setup than Win7, Vista, XP or 98 but once configured, it's just like any other windows tbh. It did lose some advanced configuration options (hence the pain of configuring), but for the most part it's Win7 with a new skin. The start button leads to a different style desktop that looks like my android tablet/phone. It's nice for quickly looking up whether, email and other things but for most tasks the traditional (and default) desktop is better. In terms of performance, I can't really judge as the only hardware in common between my old rig and my current one is the PSU, RAM and DVD player. Performance is solid in all games I've played though, so it isn't hurting anything.

As for the GTX 770, I wanted a 970 instead as that is currently the best price/performance card out there. However, they were on back order from every major retailer for no less than 2 months at the time. So I picked up the budget 770 instead. I'm happy with it, runs everything very nicely. But it will go obsolete sooner than a GTX 970 will. As a consolation, it was $230 instead of $330. So there is that.

I run ED at everything on high with a core i3 16 gig ram and radeon r7 260...very low end, so you are quite far ahead of the spectrum.
