Am I the only one that doesn't want a "big" ship?

Love the Cobra, consider that a mid size.

But I'm all about the Anaconda.
I'll probably end up in the Panther due to the extra space but really don't like its new look, where as the Anaconda I think is perfect.

I can't wait to be able to walk around in either of those ships and seeing the internals.

OP: Nope, I have only ever wanted the Cobra, and finally just a moment ago bought it, not even flown it yet :D

Saved out and heading for bed knowing I finally got what I wanted, now I did the grind shooting Fed ships I will return probably to earn enough to kit out the ship then go back to trading and exploring and messing around with that again :)

I like the cobra too, but I'm not 100% happy with the hardpoints. but I'm kind of looking to try the Imperial Courier - mainly because I like the looks. Nothing bigger though.

I've flown all of the ships now and when I upgraded to the Lakon I thought "big ships aren't for me". I was also fairly underwhelmed by the Anaconda; for one it's even worse than the Lakon for getting through the letterbox.

I was starting to think that once I'd made up some more cash I might go back to the Cobra again, but then I tried the Anaconda in combat and I am kind of on the fence now. The array of hardpoints really makes it shine. It's a lot of fun being able to switch between 3 or 4 different weapon types. I just wish the Cobra had a couple of extra C4 hardpoints then it would be perfect.

Hopefully there will be an in-between ship, with agility close to the Cobra but a few more hardpoints

Well this genre and these types of games offer many gameplay styles. Which some specific spacecraft excels at. So as always I going to be a spacecraft collector. The ones which are a must have for specific task. Or gameplay role I would use more often.

I looking forward to the boarding expantion.

Grinded all up to an Anaconda, had it for 2 days then sold everything again and bought back a Cobra. It simply has all I need and all I want.

I hope to one day have tried them all, but I do want a big(ger) ship in the end. With escorts, or a maxed out drive for getting away. :p

Panther Clipper, with half of the hull converted for extra fuel and souped up engine, yeah. Runs a parsec in under three light years... ;)

But who knows, I might go back to smaller. Odds are I'll have more than one ship once I can afford the big one, though. :)

Small is big, so is beautiful! :D Er... They're both beautiful. :p

I'd love to see even bigger trading ships. Maybe you could even have to park outside the station and use a shuttle for docking.

Only as long as your ship is invulnerable whilst not in it or you will come back to a floating pile of scrap after its been rammed by griefers.

I have been piloting each ship except the hauler and currently I find that Cobra is the best ship. Hauler and Lakon are both purely merchant vessels, which makes them unsuitable for me as this limits the gameplay. Anaconda is a great ship but it is still too slow for me. Cobra is just about right, the jack of all trades, the fastest ship currently available, has enough firepower to destroy any ship.

Just switched from the Hauler to a Cobra and boy, do I regret it. Can't stand sitting off-centre. Doesn't feel right, look right or, to me, play right. The empty co-pilot seat mocks me silently.

Still, gimbals and missile racks do compensate somewhat...

Why? Because to me trading is a means to an end. That end is largely exploration and the occasional legit shoot-out in space. And once I have the Cobra, fully outfitted, I think I'll just fly around and have fun.
Well big ships aren't only about trading, they'll also be mining, passenger carrying, oh, and you could always explore in a big ship too.

Me, I just want a Beluga:

So I can be Captain Stubing in space:

Come beta I'll be striving to get into a Cobra. Sure, I'll try an Eagle on my way there, but I have zero desire to pilot/own an Anaconda or Lakon.

Am I the only one not aspiring to own/fly one of the big ships? They simply don't tickle my fancy.

There's bound to be a fighter or three higher up than the Cobra, that's the starting ship for a lot of alpha backers. We haven't yet seen Vipers, Asps, Pythons, Adders, Kraits and the like.

Fill her up with half pleasure slaves and half...er... other passengers and you can be him! ;)

I want a huge ship with lots of guns.

No - I won't blow you up, but if you feel like I could then when the "demands" are made you're more likely to comply ... Sitting in a sidewinder saying "cargo or your life" when you're squared up against an Anaconda just feels stupid.

Just saying :)
