Amazing Game !!!

Hi guys,

Finally managed to get my Standard Beta game up and running - I am absolutely thrilled how it plays. I have been playing the single player missions at the moment until the Standard Beta opens on 29th July- anyway I absolutely love it and have been mapping my X52 stick and learning all the different controls etc. So I am quite happy at the moment playing the single player missions which allows me to get familiar with the controls, get a suitable mapping for me onto my Saitek X52 and get used to all that before I go 'live' on the Standard Beta.

I will when I get more pennies next week buy the lifetime expansion so as all expansions are covered. Can't wait to relive my glory days of playing this way back in the day on my BBC lol

This really is a dream come true - think I best get my divorce details etc finalised now as this game will be the ruin of me !!! hahahaha

As a small question which has no doubt already been asked somewhere on the forums - are we getting Docking Computers like we did back in the day?

Also will players be organising into clans etc? Now I dont want to play this like EVe as its a totally different game however there may be room for clans working and supporting one another trading etc.

All the best fella's and see you out there in the cosmos :)

There will be docking computers. I'd imagine they will take your ship through the process of docking fairly slowly. There is the classic line about them not being 100% reliable. Also the entrance/exit is fairly contested so it may be that you have to keep one eye on it to cancel and take evasive action if someone else is on a collision course.

Sandro said something along the lines of there will be additional assistance. My guess is that is a visualisation of the airlock that is similar to the pad visualisation.

I'm sure you know, because you mentioned buying it next week, but just to make sure - the lifetime expansion pass is only available until the Beta goes live.

Welcome Commander! I am not a community spokesman or anything but you will find a docking computer quite unnecessary for your initial flights in a Sidewinder. The 'letterbox' as we call it is very generous for such a small ship. More or less the same deal for the Eagle and Hauler. For the Lakon however, keep your butt to the floor and in the Anaconda: the opposite. Always keep 4-pips to SYS in or near a station and look for the green lights when entering or exiting to minimise head-on collisions, but with 4-pips to SYS you should bounce off anything unscathed.

I have flown all types during the Premium Beta and the 29th July will be an interesting day to say the least. :D

Glad your enjoying it. The backers who cant play yet due to the game refund system might get a look in the 21st . Its at times like this you wonder why we even bothered backing the game a year and a half ago with nearly 70 quid.

Seriously though its good your enjoying it . It just rubs it in when some of us see a post like this .

Bitter and twisted? Not really tbh, just a little disapointed and feeling somewhat left out is all.
