General / Off-Topic Amazing Stories Magazine Reborn

In case you're not familiar with this part of Science Fiction history, Amazing Stories was founded in 1926 by Hugo Gernsback, and became the standard bearer for Science Fiction. It excited and inspired people like Isaac Asimov, Ursula Le Guin, Kate Wilhelm, Jack Williamson, Arthur C. Clarke, C.L. Moore and even a naval midshipman named Robert A. Heinlein.

Well, since those days it's gone through several reincarnations, and recently even had a TV anthology series on AppleTV. Right now they have a Kickstarter going on for a new season.

Some of you might remember the Mossfoot Muckabout stories I posted here a few years back, or the novels I've written (I was also the editor of Drew Wagar's book Elite Dangerous: Premonition), so I'm proud to say I've been a part of this magazine (published in Issue 2 and 6) and hope to see this magazine live to see another year :)

I love sci-fi as much as the next nerd, and kudos to you for being part of this, but I don't get it.
Why do they need a kickstarter for another season? Are they giving their stuff away for free, or can they just not make any money to support themselves?

Kickstarter also is publicity. The answer is probably not unless each magazine is really expensive
