I haven't encountered a contact binary either. I'm curious what happens if you jump into one of those systems at the wrong angle. With stars that are a few LS apart, you fly through the secondary star, come out the other side, and then scramble to drop a heat sink and find an escape route before going to get clean underwear. With contact binaries, could you drop into SC inside the secondary star and experience insta-death? Or will the navigation computer drop you out farther away, or cheat and alter your angle of approach from what it should have been?
