Ambassadors for EGX

Is there any word on who has been picked for the ambassadors for Elite at EGX London? Not that I think I got picked, just haven't heard anything at all and will need to book time of work for it.
Or do the people who need to know already know?!

According to the latest newsletter, entries close midnight Sunday so I guess an announcement will be made this week...

It would be nice to know.

My boss has been a real sport to say I can take the week if I need to, but it would be nice to let him know sooner rather than later if he's got to find staff cover that week.

By all means let the "lucky winners" know, but also notify everyone else that they were not picked.

good idea, maybe a forum announcement along the lines of 'Ambassadors selected, the lucky few (and reserves) will be receiving their formal offer of a place by the end of the day. if you entered please check your inbox after 5pm - it could be you!'

then once attendance is confirm the ambassadors can be formally announced in the next news letter, everyone would know where they stand and there will be less of a wait to find out if you made it.

it would also be nice if those who entered go an email either way, just so everyone knows if they need to book time off.

well all I can say is that its a fun event to do but hard days work, you really need a friendly attitude and not be over 6 foot, otherwise you wont get invited again.:D

I'm just six foot! Can't recall any low ceilings at EGX last year (even on the escalator). :S

Are there any forum threads by ambassadors from previous events describing their experience? I'd be interested to hear, even if I don't make the cut myself.

im an Ambassador from a previous event, the idea for the day was to tweet and facebook stuff as much as possible, turned out to be a very busy event and we didn't have time for such frivolities, i did make a thread for it though,

I suspect FD won't announce them without getting acknowledgment so they might be either leaving this for Friday newsletter (hopefully), or just leaving up to people themselves to do it.

I guess it is first one - FD wants to get all confirmations and then announce it in one swoop.

Well, I'll speak up for myself.

I was selected and I'm over the moon!

I asked if it was ok for me to promote it on my twitch stream and was told of course I can, so we're not under any NDA.

I expect Fridays newsletter will reveal all, but I've not been told anything specifically.
