Hardware & Technical AMD omega drivers with super resolution on a r9 = gamgasim

wow now that amd has lauched its Omega drivers and basically said hey nvidia we can do cool tricks too.. the game on my 40 inch in 4k 60hz super resolution is the just wow.. i literally have no reason to buy a 4k screen now. this is just perfect. guess now i can save up for a rift if they ever go consumer grade.

Yeah vsr works great on my monitor and 290x but doesn't work on the dk2 in extended . I refuse to play on the monitor so it's a waste for me. Wondering why if nvidia can super sample on the rift amd can't. Very disappointed with that.

Omega works great on my 290, but I dont have a Rift yet.

I was able to turn off AA in the game and it still looks like SMAA but with increased framerates. 1920x1200 upscaled to 2560x1600

VSR feature appears not to be supported for 7000 series (only R9 290's & 285) so I probably should leave things just the way the are because it would be a pain to re-install. Who am I kidding I'm a techno-masochist, hopefully this will improve something.

Not working with me. I just installed the new drivers, checked the "downsampling" option. I now have new resolutions to choose from, but none works, because it just scales everything up to 4K without downscaling. Menus are not usable anymore (too big, half of the screen cut off). I'm using a Sapphire Vapor-X Radeon R9 290 Tri-X OC. :(

One thing or sure bout the new drivers is that they install and uninstall MUCH fast than the previous beta drivers! I know all too well having done a few wipes and re-installs already. I seriously hope the work out the VSR to rift issue soon.

Can you go to the tab with the scaling slider and adjust it afterwards?

I don't have a scaling slider, but three different options of scaling type: "Keep aspect ratio", "Scale to fullscreen", "Centered timings" (I translated the options since I am on a german system), but no matter what I choose it will always look like this (in game, fullscreen, mouse cursor not visible).

Looking forward to trying this...now all we need is a Crossfire X profile and I'll be a happy camper indeed!

Frontier, get kicking AMD hard on this please :)

Oh mate you'll love it!

My R9 290 on a 1080p monitor upscales to 3K max now (3200x1800). Games seem to just look a lot.. sharper? I might be tempted to get a larger cheapo 1080p monitor to get the most of this.. or run it through my 40" telly ;)
