Hi,
Wanted to share my setup. I was worried it may not be capable, so here it is:
Intel i7-4790 (running at 4.0GHz)
16GB 1600MHz RAM
AMD R9-270 Graphics Card
1TB 7200RPM HDD
I got the DK2 up and running in about 15 minutes, thanks to all the other great posts.
I can run seamlessly at minimum graphics settings. I can set the graphics-quality up to about 30% and frame-rate stays around 70, which seems fine to me. The odd glitch here and there, but it does not really detract from the experience. The game is very playable - a few things I noticed:
1 - finding your docking-bay is so easy now
2 - avoiding interdiction is so much easier
3 - locating anything around you is generally so much easier
Overall - the DK2 is great. The immersion is amazing. I can not wait to upgrade my PC to a dual 980 (in about 6 months!) and get the production RIFT with about 2x the resolution.
