Hi Collider :)
.
There's a few reviews about that feature the RX 480 reference cards, but I'm waiting until we see more reviews of the aftermarket ones at the moment (Sapphire, MSI, EVGA etc.)
At the moment I get the impression that the G force 1060 is slightly better in some games, and uses less power consumption, plus they tend to run slightly cooler.
Trouble is, most of the reviews (I've seen) either compare an aftermarket G force 1060 with a reference RX 480, which can be confusing.
.
At the moment I'm particularly waiting to see an in depth review of the Sapphire RX480 Nitro edition, for example (Twin Fans), compared with a comparable G force 1060 equivalent, (Also Twin fan).
Another prime example would be a review featuring say an MSI RX480 compared with an MSI 1060, (both twin fan) I think that might give a fairer comparison between the two. ;)...at least for cooling tests, and power consumption. Of course pricing is going to figure in this as well, so it should be interesting.
.
My budget is around the £250 mark for a new card, so another thought here....will some of the previous cards (Radeon 380's-390's or GTX 970's-980's) drop in price once the newer cards become more widely available?. If that were so then I might even consider one of those instead! :D
Anyway, by the end of this month or next we should see a bit more clarity of which card/s are the best bang for buck, as they say.
.
Jack :)
