Ammo supply on HUD

Is there any possibility that the remaining ammo, could still be seen even when the target is out of range? I'm for ever finding myself wondering when heading into combat, which is certainly not the best time, so, currently have to stop and look in the side panel or move in closer, if empty, I often wish I'd not yet moved in closer.

You can look into the modules on the right, it is behind the weapon. Even with non-extended hardpoints. Or just fire a shot into the blue and then it will be displayed briefly.

Oh does deselecting show the amount ... of course it does! Thanks for that, can't believe I didn't think to do that before!
Far too much of a fiddle in the side panel, I suppose that would be a massive advantage in VR though.
Still, personally, I'd love to see it up there on screen when a target is selected but out of range.

Been a while since I did any ship stuff, but targeting an already targeted ship may de-target, targeting an empty spot definitely does and it'd be easier to reacquire the target the usual way than to use the UI to de-target.

It would be helpful if all counts of ammo and limpets were displayed on the H.U.D.. In modern war planes there is a display that shows the status of weapons on board.

It would also be useful if I could have my scanners and weapons on the same fire group and switch between combat and analysis mode without getting spammed that I'm in the wrong mode. Or if I would get visual feedback when switching between weapon groups in super cruise! :)

That would be nice though I am pretty much trained to ignore that message now.

That would be more useful than switching to the fire groups tab to watch your selection.
