Ammo weapons sustain balance: Seeker missile ammo buff

I think Seeker Missiles really could do with a balance pass (ie: increase ammo, or damage, or both).

Compared to other ammo weapons, the sustain is terrible. Most other low ammo weapons have received increases, sometimes multiple ones: Frags; Railguns; Cannons; have all been buffed to make them viable to kill more than a single NPC enemy.
While seekers, and torps especially languish in a terrible place where they lack single hit damage, and sustain damage.

Additionally Plasmas and Railguns have the plasma slug effect, which can also mitigate ammo issues.
Torps have a niche with the Reverberating Cascade, but balancing around needing a specific engineering effect is poor IMO.

Yes you can synthesise more ammo for seekers and torps, but that applies to all these weapons, and you get more bang-for-mat synthesising for the others anyway. Again favouring the other ammo weapons.

To bring them into line with the average damage capacity, you're looking at increase Seeker reserve ammo to about 100, or 75 to match dumbfires.


Note: this is just to bring Seekers into par with other weapons possible damage, and is ignoring the general armour / protection creep from engineers, point defence, needing to lock etc.

It was brought to my attention by several players; seeker missiles were nerfed because of overwhelming cries of rage and salt from the community that they were overpowered. Apparently the devs had it right the first time, but the players thought it unrealistic because they were getting blown out of the sky often without knowing who had done it. So bowing to the pressure, they changed the damage done by them to something the player base thought "acceptable".

While I agree with the sentiment, I don't want to hear the cries of rage and salt from them again.
 
I wouldn't mind a buff. I love seekers (packhounds). I had 4 launchers on my cutter - my favorite weapon as far as hearing/watching it (not in effectiveness, though they are great for disabling weapons and such if you can get shields down).
