Ammonia Gas Giants and Ammonia Worlds

Are the Ammonia Gas Giants with some form of life similar to Ammonia Worlds when you hand in the data? The wiki on mentions the various classes of gas giants, and the ones that we often come across with life or have this ammonia atmosphere are not listed as such.

Can anyone say how much we get for handing in these gas giants? Just a range would do. I think the value varies depending on the rings.

Cheers, Kitty

WOW Kitty, I have no idea how to answer your question, but please accept some rep simply because of the most fabulous blog of yours!! Very like the passionate view of the galaxy as it is through your eyes!!! :D

Cheers Kitty, hope to meet you in the void sometime in future!

Many thanks folks. I would update the wiki if I could, as that is the common gas giant that is missing from the table. Surveying systems is not what I would call a real cash cow, but it is useful to have a rough idea of what you make on various systems so that you can keep an eye on what you might expect to get when you get back. Underestimating is good, so that you get a nice surprise upon return ;)

If you use Captain's Log you can get a pretty good estimate. In the mean time, this dognosh's image is now old, not sure if he updated it with the latest, slightly bumped prices but it'll give you an idea:

With gas giants, they're overall worthless, with those that harbor life not really being worth a scan either - I am, of course, talking strictly about their financial value, personally I'll still scan them if I they're close enough and I suspect they might have life / be helium rich or water giants. A class II gas giant - recognized by being white overall - comes closest to being worth a scan, though it's value isn't amazing it' a few times more than the other types.

I think one of the great things about exploration is finding stuff which is not in any images shown. I will usually scan gas giants as not only do they look petty, but there is usually a concentration of bodies all within 100 Ls of each other and it only takes a few minutes to scan them all. So the combined data will help make the travel time and time spent scanning worth it; subjective of course... Maybe we will get better rewards in 2.1 who knows!

I like gas giants for photo subjects since sometimes their cloud patterns and rings make excellent images. Other than that I only scan them when it's convenient for me.

Nice table, I like that.
