I'm currently trading, and to 'liven up' my journeys I've been pushing myself to dock / undock as quickly and stylishly as possible.
This foolish pass-time doesn't especially gel well with trading, but has provided some amusing moments(not always for me).
Yesterday I was actually coming in slow, got docking permission and started towards the station entrance, as I started another pilot in another sidewinder slipped in right in front of me - Rather than wait, I cranked up my drive to full and hit boost, pirouetted delicately around him in a glorious vector thrusting manoeuvre which brought me back into position in front of him and on into the docking slot - show him hows its done with style... Except in my cockiness inadvertantly switching FA off and ended up spinning wildly and smashing into the side of the station. (aka, how it's NOT done)
And a little later, perfectly lined up and matching spin coming in hot with 4 pips to engines at full pelt only for a Lakon to suddenly appear filling almost the entire entry slot - My space handbrake was not enough to stop me from turning instantly turning into interstellar roadkill
It might be a while before I make it out of this starter ship!
