An Asp WILL fit through the docking slot sideways!

Finally bit the bullet on the self destruct to fix the "unable to sell cargo" problem but decided on an experiement first.

So I can now confirm that an Asp will fit through the docking slot sideways! There's only a metre or two clearence but if you take it slowly it can be done.

Anyone tried a type 6 or 7 yet?

type 7 gets stucked sideways, it does not fit in

Great news on Asp! I was thinking about trying too but when I could get through the mailslot horizontally with a T9 coming in the same time I thought I don't need to advance further

Frontier can fix this by putting docking pods on the outside of the habitats or making the entrance bigger or a warning to the pilots to only dock at outposts

Ships that have trouble navigating the slot can't land on outposts (no large pads), so not really an option. That said, the slot is plenty big for all the ships in the game.
