I've started a thread concerning the lack of PvP content and reward recently, and an idea came to mind, which I want to run by you CMDRS:
A PvP highscore board! Here is how it could work:

A PvP highscore board! Here is how it could work:
- We need an in-game tool, where CMDRS can announce they want to fight each other. This tool should include ways to meet other willing CMDRS, choose - predefined - rulesets (ships, weapon loadouts, engineered/stock, etc...), System and so on.
- The game starts the fight. This could be done in many ways, I think the easiest one would be a waypoint or signal source and a countdown as soon as both CMDRS are in the instance.
- After the fight points are given according to the chosen rule set and standing of the CMDRS. The number of points if of course a thing that would need testing and tweaking.
- All participating CMDRS are listed in a score board. Pilots get credits on a weekly basis according to theirs standing. The amount of money is also a thing of discussion,
but I would suggest that it would be something like this:- The Lower quarter should not get enough money to fund all rebuys needed for these combats, but shouldn't loose too much money, as we want encourage pilots to participate.
- The second lowest quarter should get at least enough money so that all needed rebuys are backed.
- The second best quarter should make a decent amount of money.
- The best quarter should be rich - not billions and billions of credit rich but "I don't care about money anymore" - rich.
- There should be some kind of reset to the list, maybe even several lists (different disciplines) so that new players have a chance to get to the top
- Of course new features always open doors for exploits. These would have to be investigated and dealt with accordingly. For example: You can't fight the same CMDR more than once within a certain time frame to avoid friends fighting each other until they are on top. Also it may be a good idea to limit the amounts of possible fight for each CMDR to give people with limited playtime more chances (or again have different lists for that).
