An easy way to distinguish terra. worlds?

Since the new explorer update, is there now an easy way to locate water worlds and earth like worlds, and separate them from the rest of the planets.

Is there any way to separate terra rocky bodies and high metal content worlds from the non-terra worlds?

Still learning the hoops when it comes to exploration.

The position of a signal on the FSS tells you its type, water-worlds and earth-likes sit just right of middle between the high metal contents and the gas giants. There's a little sign at the bottom right of the FSS screen to tell you what signal type you're tuned to. To tell a terraformable from a non-terraformable water world you will need to check the description after scanning it.

If the question is "do terraformables show up differently on the FSS", then I believe the answer is "no". Non-terraformable HMCs and terraformable HMCs return identical FSS signals. Same with Water Worlds and other possibly-terraformable planet types.

True, no way (that I know of) to identify the distance of planets and be able to only scan those in the goldilocks. Not that I mind much, the scan is very fast.

You can use EDDiscovery to speak it at you, or use the in-game overlay to see the worlds you've scanned with a little $ symbol on the terraformable HMCs

But that is after you've already scanned them. This you can see in the system map, too. I'd be interested in finding a way to be able to find probable candidates before scanning.

Its after you've scanned them unfortunately. You used to be able to guess from the distance from the parent star after a honk, but now you don't know until you scan them.
EDD is still a little quicker I find, as you dont have to visit the system map and mouse over them all.

Here is what it looks like, Planets 1 2 and 3 are teraformable HMCs, and planet 4 is not.

Thank you. This is the answer I was looking for.

That’s unfortunate. Is it not in the system map only, or are distances also not in the nav panel? I have a spreadsheet I’ve been using to estimate the HZ based on stellar temp, and it’d be a shame if all that work had been in vain.
