An Elite Dangerous Fantasy Story

CHAPTER 1: ELITE DANGEROUS

Damn I should have never teased that Medusa Interceptor. My ship is not ready for this bull crap!
Now I’m under attack and the life support coolant hose next to me is loose again! The cockpit is getting hot, too hot…
Ok ok… calm down… It’s not that bad. Stay focus!
I just need to get up from my seat and fasten that damn clamp again…
What’s happening now? I’m stuck! I can move my arms and look around, but my legs are completely frozen. I have no sensibility at all! I can’t believe I’m gonna die because of a stupid unreachable clamp NEXT TO ME!
Ok, I still have a chance though… No way to counter-attack the Medusa but if I can jump in Supercruise I should have enough time to land on the nearby Earth-Like World. Thargoids can’t survive down there and I should have enough time to reset the life support system and activate the secondary cooling system to try to fix the leak.
I drop an empty escape pod to distract the Medusa and I successfully jump into Supercruise.
I can’t believe I’m doing it… I’m finally approaching the planet, I should enter the atmosphere soon… “EMERGENCY STOP, TOO CLOSE”… BANG! Out of Supercruise!
What the hell?! What’s happening now? Is the complete universe against me for some reason today?
Just at few thousands km above the planet that could save my life… Stuck in this chair! It can’t be! Why I can’t walk on my legs and why I can’t land on that planet?

WARNING TAKING HEAT DAMAGE, the cabin is all red and I start screaming! AAAAAAAAAHHHHH……. 😲

CHAPTER 2: A NEW ERA

I wake up fully sweat and shocked.
I keep repeating to myself “it was just a dream now calm down”.
Well no, it was not entirely a dream… I remember the Medusa, but I killed her… and then I must have fainted. Somehow the acid cloud that it left after the explosion entered the ship through a hull breach and the damn loose clamp allowed it to be sucked into the life support system. Yes that damn CLAMP!
The AFMU and those stupid limpets can fix electrical circuits and repair structures but they can’t tight a simple clamp. And this clamp is not really next to me this time…
I first need to switch off the Life Support System and then go the bay 42, on the other side of the ship. Too much time, I don’t have enough oxygen for that.
Fortunately the Earth-Like World I dreamed about is real too. I will land there so I will be able to get some fresh water and make all the reparations.
