An expensive lesson indeed

After a rather long hiatus from E:D I decided to hop on and see what the latest update is all about. After getting accustomed to the new UI I decided to refit my Anaconda for combat salvaging. In theory this was going to be semi profitable but a lot of fun, but I was horribly mistaken. I got a couple nice bounties with the aid of local security forces, and then I spotted another Anaconda, full of loot and a nice fat bounty to boot and thus I opened fire, fully expecting the security forces to help in the effort to bring this criminal to justice. I was wrong, so very very wrong...

I have since lost my beloved Anaconda to the rebuy screen (there are now some new fees to be aware of). But I have not lost hope, I shall take a short break, and return in my trusty Vulture to see how fast I can get the Anaconda back!

But surely you should be raging about the horribly broken game at this point?
.
Sorry you lost your ship and thanks for the warning on extra fees. Do you remember what they were for and how much?
.
Anyway, kudos and rep for taking it on the chin and just moving on with a new objective. :)

They were Creditor/Debtor fees totaling up to just over 1.1 mil and pushed the rebuy just past what I could afford even after removing any available equipment (if I could have dropped the refinery I would have been kinda ok). I was also quite surprised by a 15% hull damage spike when I was firing away at the underside of the enemy ship, proximity mines perhaps? I dunno. I had been thinking about selling the Anni off and getting a Python and Fer De Lance, that way if I wanted to mine I could go out in the Python and if I wanted to blow stuff up I could take the FDL. Only difference now is that I don't have the money from the Annie to work with.

Someone needs some salt for the fat chip on their shoulder! :D

Nah, no chip, Just disappointment at the language used to provide a lot of the feedback on the latest update from certain members.
.
While I fully agree it has issues that really need fixing and other features that I don't like, I don't think that posting messages saying everyone at FD are morons who have no idea of what they are doing is the best way to provide feedback.
Negative feedback is just as valid as positive, as are opinions on the new features, but there are calmer ways of doing it.

Thanks for getting back to us, I didn't realise these extra charges were a thing although I new about bounties being added.
.
As they are tracking these extra costs, it would be nice if they were mentioned under the rebuy cost so we don't get caught out through ignorance of them, instead of stupidity, or calculated risks.
.
Again, good luck on recuperating your losses.

So, not to beat a dead horse or anything, but it seems that my experience was not exactly typical. After reading about, and seeing a few videos about the super broken AI weapons I am thinking perhaps a bug report is in order. When I got popped in my Anaconda it happened a bit like this:

https://youtu.be/oZN_yZ07-18

I wasn't 1 shot but my shields dropped super fast and I was taking 10 to 15% hull damage at multicannon speed. The hits were coming from the underbelly of the enemy Anaconda and sounded like rail gun fire (multi railgun turrets perhaps?).
