An experience that made me lol so much......dont trust the challenger

So there I am looking for somewhat of a fair fight when someone messages me asking for a 1v1
-
I figure why not? Hes nice enough to ask, isn't actually Wanted so I find no reason not to
-
But as you may realise, who can be trusted?
-
Before I get a chance to answer an NPC interdicts me, so I quickly jump back to accept his challenge, hes still waiting there in SC and interdicts me straight away, I figure Python vs Python, may as well since Im fully stocked out of dock.
-
But of course, a vulture and clipper join him seconds later, his wingmates cleverly concealed and added to his wing after he interdicts me
-
Of course Im not going to fight them now, if im looking for a fight I usually want a 1v1 in a similar level ship, I also note their wing says 3/4 so they have someone else coming (I find out later its a fer de lance who I had fought 1v1 earlier and fought off)
-
Anyways their conversation to me made my night, thanks for the comedy, heres some quotes I especially liked:
"Why are you even in open, running away every time?"
"we are here to watch, we arnt going to shoot you guys while you fight" (Pew pew pew....ok then maybe stop firing if you actually want me to believe that)
"Noob cant even fight 1v1 (when theres actually 4 of them)"
-
-
They continued to keep interdicting me, and I saw them try the same trick on others, cancelling their wing and waiting in ambush, sure its a valid way to ambush people and I congratulate you on your intelligent remarks, they made my night

I wonder if they realize that there's more to player-to-player interaction than simply trying to kill each other?

I remember one situation in particular - had just gotten my Vulture decently geared out, and decided to stick around the SSS after 3-4 'condas jumped me with the gold-bait.

In the excitement of the moment, I neglected to pay close attention to my own shields while taking down one of theirs, and my fight quickly turned into flight. Nevertheless, the ambushers continued to pound away at me, and my hull was dropping pretty quickly and my canopy at the verge of blowing out.

At that point, I heard the sound of other ships entering the fray, and received a message from one of the new arrivals that went something along the lines of "We're here to help".

I tried to contribute as best as I could, but the newcomers definitely saved my bacon. When I asked them how there were able to find me, they admitted that they had been following me for a while, and when they saw me leave SC decided to follow me in.

They could have kicked me while I was down, but instead inspired me to pay more attention in SC and hopefully be able to assist some other newbie in trouble.

First two posts of the thread equally represent the reasons I both do and don't want to play in Open. I could care less about the end result of an interaction (be destroyed or saved). I care about the interaction itself. Who would you rather interact with, someone trying to cheat or con you, or someone who wants to live the game with you?

Rep to both.

Exactly, I help people in trouble and only fight wanted ships that are armed for battle when I'm looking for a fight

Ive helped a few people that were in your situation with CMDRs attacking them

Ive made a lot of friends and enemies in this game, but that's all part of the experience, it's just kind of a downer ( even though they made me laugh) when someone tries to so obviously trick you and expect you to still go along with it

This is part of the reason I think wings should only be able to be formed in stations or in normal space, basically you should need to be local to each other to establish a sync and not in SC.
