An Exploration First! (For me at least)

I am currently making my way back to the bubble from Sag A and stumbled upon a system that I previously discovered.

I've only ever been on an exploration trip once before with that little jaunt having no particular route planned. For the return trip that I am currently on, I veered this way and that a bit, but for the last few K Ly, I am on a bit of a bee line toward the bubble.

What are the odds? I know they are greater as I am within 5K Ly of home and thus this happenstance was not totally random, but still. ;)

There are systems as close as 500 LY from Sol That are undiscovered. The trick is to travel in a different direction from everyone else. Once you get past about 1,000 LY you'll find a few undiscovered, and beyond about 1500 LY more than half of the systems will be new.

According to EDSM, we have discovered 0.004% of systems, so there are a few still out there!

Totally missing the point of the OP!

Odds on jumping back into a system you have discovered out in the far away must be erm... "astronomical" :)

Happened to me a couple of times out past Colonia and as I tend to explore intensively out from a central point, I always drop a book mark when I start to remind me not to traverse that section of the galaxy next time.

Also, target the non scoopables as people tend to ignore them

I've had my two accounts cross each others path before now. But as it was on the Colonia route it's maybe not so surprising.

Or according to Feynman "economical"
