An idea for filling those sad empty copilot seats in our ships.

I was thinking about how FDev could program in a way to fill all copilot seats with hired crew to do stuff for you in any game mode.

For example you hire crew member who have certain strengths.

E.g. This crew member is good at subsystem work, Where as this crew member is an advanced fighter pilot, or this pilot is trained in discovery scanning technology.

If the crew member scans a new system you have entered you dont get your name on it due to taking "the easy way out" and having your crew do all the hard work. The discovery goes to the pilots federation as a corporate entity. You get half the monetary gain you would have received had you scanned the system yourself.

Set your crew up, set an A.I. path for them and you're good to go.

The more the crew work in their job positions they lvl/rank up and their degree of work efficiency increases (speed of task completion).

Say in a Corvette:

You fly and control weapons and FSD like normal.

One crew member has control of discovery scanning and planet mapping. The higher the lvl/rank of the crew member the faster they are at their job.

Have a crew member be in charge of module maintenance/repairs and sub systems (switching off non essential modules in certain scenarios that you set up.

E.g. something gets damaged and malfunctions, turn it off and repair it. Then switch it back on. Or I'm entering combat, I dont need a fuel scoop while I'm here so it'll be switched off.
