an idea for player minor faction leaders

as ps4 player with a recently included minor faction, i have found that being the founder and leader of a faction does not really give you any perks other than you faction being in game.

so i was wondering if there was anyway to help identify PMF leaders in game, or at the very least a way to identify people allied with a faction. as i see it at the moment when you scan a player ship it comes up with no faction unless they are pledged to a power or are fighting for a faction in a CZ. so what if all players who ally with a player minor faction had that space taken by the player made faction they are allied to and it would also help identify commanders who helping or hindering within a PMF controlled system.

its a long shot i know but it would help player group feel more connected to there factions, and help with alliances between different factions.

With regard to automatic display of a Faction's name - what would happen if the player was allied with more than one Faction?

.... or simply did not want anyone to know which Faction they were allied with?

in the case of being allied to more than one faction then his allied status would only appear in systems with that faction, as for not wanting people to know what faction a pilot supports then as above make it only show up in systems a faction is in control of. like i said it was just a suggestion to help players easily identify allies from enemies nothing more

What if you're allied with all the factions in a system? (Or just more than one?)

why couldn't it be another selection on the far right panel (where you switch lights on/off, wing beacon on/off). You could have it as a drop down listing all the factions that you are allied with.

The default (i.e. commander does nothing) would be none - i.e. not displaying your faction allegiances.
You could extend it to the powerplay factions as well.

The pirate / criminal classes could also fly under certain flags of convenience if they were trying to go under the radar.

There is already the "choose faction" dropdown there which is only used in CZs, maybe this could be re/multi/purposed.

Such a selection could indeed be made using that drop-down - presumably selecting one from all the Factions the CMDR is allied with in that system (or not, should the CMDR wish to remain incognito).
