An idea for the lions

So I was looking at the West African lion's Zoopedia entrance and I noticed that the West African lion has a distribution similar to lions in general.

Thus I propose to rename the in-game West African lion as the Southern lion as that's what it looks like the most and to represent Panthera leo leo, use the Asiatic lions of Gujarat to base the models on for a later DLC. This is because they look rather distinct from most usual zoo lions and are in several European and Indian zoos (including London and Chester).

I would support this change. The name they have designated, West African lion, is largely an outdated naming scheme, and it was a weird choice to begin with. When people think of an African lion they almost universally think of the vast savannas (think Serengeti, Kruger, etc.) which areas are populated by the Southern lion.
I would like to know where Frontier got their zoopedia map as the displayed range includes both Panthera leo leo and Panthera leo melanochaita, and certainly is far more expansive than the West African lion range. Based on that map they should leave subspecies out and just call it the African lion, Panthera leo.
It would be nice to the Asiatic lion in the game at some point in the future (and based on other zoo games there will be demand for it). If the Asiatic lion (P. l. leo) was added, it would be confusing to have two different versions of the same subspecies, and even more confusing that the far more famous African lion/ southern lion wasn't represented.

I'd love to see the Asiatic lion included at some point, given the fantastic Indian themed building set. However, if they don't want to add a specifically Asiatic lion, they could just rename the lion to "Lion" instead of anything specific. The map includes their current range in Africa and their current range in India (the small pink dot, it's easy to miss) so leaving it ambiguous could allow the player to design either an Indian or an African habitat and it would still work.
