Wow this new powerplay thing offers a lot to mull through. I dig it.
While it's not really the reason I bought the ticket into this sim, I like what I see regarding the galactic soap opera. The game needed it, IMO, as galnet was rather weak before as far as immersion.
I imagine you can ignore all this stuff if you have your own agenda in the sandbox. I'm still not sure when or if I'm going to "pledge allegiance" to anyone for now. I'm only a few months in and am just now preparing for flying a ship with guns (exploring was my motivation for joining this).
Anyway, I think I'll spend a good bit of the night just reading what all these power figures are up to and how it relates to civ space. Looking forward to what this will bring to the game.
Also, graphics look improved/streamlined with the upgrade. Nice.
