An ode to Elite in the vein of Dr Seuss

Was reading Dr Seuss to my kid and got inspired. Stole a few of his lines that I found very fitting. I hope you enjoy.

Oh, the sights you will see,
the places you'll go!
The worlds you will visit!
The adventures you'll know!

You will find from your very
first moment in space,
you're surrounded by choice
all over the place.

There's billions and billions
of systems out there.
Some say
400 billion for those that do care
each with a celestial body or two,
just think of the possibilities waiting for you!

To explore or to plunder
are just two careers you can try.
Be a trader a courier, assasssin
or spy.
Hunt bounties across the vastness of space
or mine in some quiet far away place.

You'll fly Hauler's and Cobra's
a Lakon or two,
Maybe a Python or Viper or Asp
is for you?
But the Sidewinder is were you begin
So what are you waiting for Commander?
Jump in!

Strapped in your starship,
this'll be your new home.
The cockpit includes a bobblehead
so you wont be alone,
Space Traders Flight Training Manual
and hot brew of your choice.
Get out there!
It's time the Galaxy heard your unique voice.

So,
Engines online and throttle away,
But gently! Gently!
It's just your first day!

Four pips to shields
and slowly out through the gate,
Stick to the Green side,
That's the way mate.

With controls at the ready
and the stars in your eyes,
Your out in the galaxy
Oh, what a surprise!

Infinate freedom is just out that gate.
Whether you succeed or you fail
is all up to you, but you get to choose
how you blaze your own trail.

There's only one goal,
When it's all said and done,
to become the best of the best
and reach number one.
A title that sounds, oh, so sweet,
that allows you to wear
the badge of Elite.

Thank you Dr Seuss for filling my childhood with imagination and magical worlds and thank you Mr Braben and team for filling my teenage years and now my 40's with more wonderful worlds. All the best out in the galaxy Commanders.

Green Eggs and Ham scared me as a kid. Dunno why, it just freaked me out. My own kids loved Dr Seuss though but I still had a problem reading them GE and H.

Maybe it was because they were green? That would mean they're rotten in the real world. Off putting to say the least.

My favourite Dr Seuss book was McElligot's Pool. I still enjoy reading that one to my daughter, probably more than she does! :D

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
