Ship Builds & Load Outs Anaconda armour query

Having begun modding the armour on my annie, I have become stuck and not sure which path to go down.
I have currently military grade armour installed with various hull reinforcements modded with heavy hull mod.
Now i want to keep my mass down while keep good armour, so would I be better to mod the military armour with the light weight mod or, get the standard armour and put on the heavy duty reinforcement.
Has anyone dabbled in this. Not sure what's the better option.

Thank you commanders o7

It depends largely on what you want to do with your Anaconda - it's a multi - purpose, good for exploration, trading and combat. If it's heavy combat you want, I would definitely recommend military grade armor + heavy duty mod. If you want to explore, or just trade with as much range as possible - go ahead and keep the lightweight alloys, and throw a heavy duty mod on them, it won't add any mass but it will make those lightweight alloys be roughly the equivalent of reinforced bulkheads. Don't expect these to give you more than a few seconds extra when the shields go down, though, so if your shields are about to drop, get out of there if you go this route.

I would just advise to avoid the pitfall of trying to make one build for "a bit of everything", it won't be really good at any of those activities. Now that we have module storage, there's no reason to fly not fully optimized for whatever you're doing at the moment.

Sorry should have said it my combat build/bounty hunter.
I was thinking along the lines of less weight more manovarablilty = enemy in front of me more

wouldn't the obvious way in that case be to go for a shieldtank? e.g. good thermal modded bi-weave-shields, 3 res boosters, rest heatsinks, and the usual chaff/pd/... and 2+ scb? I'm running heavy duty bulkheads on lightweight armour on my FDL (and my combat cobra...), because its shields don#t go down in the first place...

I have already modded by shields in that configuration. I was just planning on doing armour for that just incase moments

I'm positive that you can get away with a conda with heavy duty armour on lightweight armour, it it is only about running.

i would probably fit a) 2 MRP, so your thrusters do not get shot out and b) at least 1 HRP blast resitant - size doesn't matter.
