Anaconda as armed trader?

That's interesting, part of me wanting to switch is to see what it feels like in the rift. The view in the T9 is perfect in my opinion, I had imagined the size of the bridge in the DK2 would be very immersive? Even the clipper in the DK2 feels like being on the bridge of a cruise liner. Is the Anaconda really that bad?
.
The bridge in Anaconda is big, yes, but somehow empty... And side views are not comparable to T9 and you do not have floor view. And a strange feeling. I cannot describe it better as to compare with "Aliens" movie - you sit here and something slowly approach from behind...
I fear you must try it yourself.

Well as of right now you can only use an anaconda for trading, anything else and you're just losing money.

I've not found this to be the case unless you meant 'loosing out on money' in which case I'd agree. I've been able to make a profit doing everything except low end mining but like anyone can really make that work hehe. Just loosing a bit more of the profit due to running costs compared to a smaller ship.

I don't think you can masslock an Anaconda. I've easily hyperjumped from the luxuries traders without any problem.
Yes, the T9 has 96t more cargo room but I definitely wouldn't want to have to fly it again. :'D

Ditto - there was nothing more soul crushing than flying the T9. I hated it, and there was no reason for it to be 1000T either. Trim about 400T off that ship and it would make more sense.

The a aconda in the rift is like standing at the helm of a big cargo ship. The feeling of size is amazing and I love the fact you not at the front of the ship.

The vision tho is not even close to that of the lakons however

I kinda wish the game had a showroom for ships, you can't fly the ship, but can steel get a feel of things. I guess i could try it and sell it if I'm not happy, but it would cost 14 million just to have pleasure of trying it in the rift

Well im using the imperial clipper atm and it's very hard to even turn a profit. Just the simple act of interdicting someone costs 20k in repairs and 5k in wear and tear. That's at 2% damage(interdictions can cause upto 10% damage). That makes bounty hunting or piracy unprofitable (unless you farm nav beacons). If the costs are that high for me, I don't even want to know how high they are for a conda.

All seeker missile launchers can be quite funny :D

They might have counter measures, but they won't stop every missile. They will be forced to back off.

The big ships are not great for bounty hunting, they are to slow and expensive to run. Viper and Cobra are best. Bigger does not = better in Elite.

Armed Trader

This is what I use. I also occasionally change it up and put on four fixed pulse lasers. The convergence is very good on the upper hardpoints. The shields on an Anny are very strong even at the lower end.

Edit: Oops. Really class 8D sensors, not 8A.
