Powerplay Faction: Zachary Hudson Anaconda, Cutter, or Corvette?

If I remember correctly, I built it to do head on attacks against other large, cumbersome ships-

you definetly want at least one or two medium turrets on all larger ships, starting with the python. a medium beam or two fries those pesky eagles.

If I remember correctly, I built it to do head on attacks against other large, cumbersome ships- I fitted one huge PA and two large PAs, a Large beam, two small turreted pulse, and two medium gimbaled pulse. I seriously underestimated the two eagles.. I had a class 6 B SCB, but didn't use it in time.. wasn't expecting these knuckleheads to drop my shield so fast.

Roger that.. fly backwards... should have done that. I was so upset afterward that I sold it. Maybe I'll save some more and purchase it as a second ship so I can still undermine in my FAS- until I get my rear admiral rank (currently half-way through lieutenant) then I am getting a Corvette to replace my FAS

I was sympathetic until your last statement. Even if I decided to never fly my FAS again (LMAO like that'll ever happen - it's just too much fun to fly), I'd never sell it. Upon my death, I'm sure there's a museum somewhere in the bubble that'll be tickled pink to have my heirs donate it.

I have all three.

The Imperial Cutter is a trade ship and makes a good miner, but it's total lack of manuverability makes it a poor (and very expensive) combat ship.

The Anaconda is the best all-around ship with terrific jump range and high cargo capacity and it's significantly cheaper than the other two.

The Federal Corvette. It costs more, so why have it over the Anaconda? Because it is REALLY tough and kicks butt AND is more nimble.

For trade, the Cutter for combat, the Corvette for distance with a mix of all, the Anaconda.

Got the Corvette and it is UBER better than the Anaconda. NO CONTEST.

I had to settle with either C, D class or even A next to the top class (7 instead of 8) on many essential items due to price, and considering my experience with the Conda, i'd thought I would need turreted weapons, but no.. this thing was out-turning a lot of ships at 50% speed on C rated thrusters! Pleasantly surprised!

It was sooo worth grinding for rear-admiral. I am still working on fully A-rating it out, with only my Power Plant left to go.. my jump range is 14.45ly - better than my FDL and FAS were. Lots of fuel space and 5A scoop makes it so easy to refuel in a little less than half the circumference of a star. It's future-ready with empty slots for hangar bay to boot.

Go here and you can Kit out any ship in the game to find out armor, speed, weps, shlding and all the other things you can put in a ship.
You can also Save your Builds to reference later.
Will show total costs (not counting some system discounts) for every item added and Insurance cost for the Build.
Save often while building cause it will sometimes lockup and you lose all progress
