Anaconda Docking Bay

So, in the Anaconda's description, it says that the ships can be outfitted with a docking bay. Is this true, what size internal compartment does this require, and I want to see a video of this.

Soon...

@ 0:50s in the video, you can see a Condor taking off from the Anaconda's docking bay. Looks fun!

Yep , when I first watched that thought it was an annie too, but after pausing and taking a closer look, it doesn't look like the back end of an annie, I'm wondering if its that Corvette thing ?

I heard the Anaconda will be able to carry sidewinders. If I owned an Anaconda, I would absolutely let new sidewinder pilots in places like Eravate land in my ship to refuel, and perhaps rearm if I have the same weapons as them? ie, they can siphon gas from my tank and take ammo from my guns, and I might charge for it (Say, double the normal price :p). That RP aspect would be awesome.

Also, for the whole process of docking, it would be the same as station docking, with the sidewinder going to the Contacts tab and selecting the Anaconda, and pressing "Request Docking Perms". Then, the 'Conda pilot would accept or decline. :D Can't wait.

And if you get stuck in a system without fuel, you can send a distress signal?

Ships don't launch from the back, the bay is under the ship facing forward just behind the huge hardpoint. The ship is definitely launching from a conda

Sorry pics are from the rift, the pic is taken below and looking up at the ships hanger, arrows point to the bay doors

That's neat, I never knew they had any intentions of having player owned ships store other ships.

I wonder how it will work; if players will be able to pilot the stored ship, or the player that owns the ship can switch to it, or if it is just npc controlled (which is still pretty cool to have your own back-up)

Why is the landing gear down? Talk about noob pilot. That is why the co-pilot is jumping in his fighter for a quick exit, the Anaconda is definitely going to get blown up. :D

PS. I know its not from the trailer :)

It's okay, I use the rift too. Is it going to be limited to just an anaconda/sidewinder, or will it be possible to outfit other ships, and have other ships dock?

The latest FD trailer shows an F63 Condor flying out of the docking bay, so while this isn't currently a player pilotable ship, it suggests that other ships yet to be released / be playable could ultimately be launched from it as long as it fits through the docking bay door :)

Somebody may be able to correct me, but I'm not aware that they've ever said that they have this intention. I have a feeling that this entire rumour is based on the fact that the flavour text for the Anaconda says that it can carry a smaller ship...

If they were never planning on adding this feature, they should remove that from the anaconda's description.

And remove it from the latest video too :)

Ah good point, just assumed they'd fly out the back, when I get back home to the annie I'll check it out with the debug cam

They said ages ago it would carry a sidewinder sized ship. I don't see what the point would be though. At the moment there is no reason why would you need it.
