Anaconda Explorer

Hi Everyone.

Anybody have a Anaconda for exploring?
What loadout do you have?
I seem to be finding conflicting
Information about jump ranges and fuel consumption. Can you get anywhere near Asp jump range?

With Thanks

The Anaconda has the longest jump range in the game.

I'm currently over 28k ly out from Sol, this is my build:

I could probably equip lower spec thrusters/power plant/shields/power distro to get a few more ly range, but I also use this ship for trading so just kept most of my standard gear.

I'm right on the galactic rim at the moment in mine and I equiped for the job in hand, so its pretty much bare bones.

Works a charm, massive jump range has really helped to avoid some dead ends that I would have had to back track from in an asp. On the downside it turns slower than the asp and has a much more restricted view, I didn't like it at first but over the last 20k ly's it has really grown on me.

Some fantastic more credit friendly builds also ...

Thanks for the info guys be a week or so before I'm able to buy one ;-)

Yeah, I should have stripped mine.. with weps, hull, and shields, the jump range on my anaconda is 29 lyears. 40 would be nice :)

anaconda is undisputed king of exploring.. BUT, it's crazy expensive. Nutter has a thread on here for an asp, and has gotten its range tto about 38 light years. So, you lose a few light years if you go with aship that is a fraction of the cost of the anaconda.

Slightly confused as to why he has a SCB installed, and that dist makes the boost function inoperative. You could ditch the cell bank and replace it with a better dist.

Not to mention a 2A Reactor would fully power the rig with barely any loss in jump distance.

The way i see it my Anaconda is tough old bird, she can take a few hits, and since in order to boost her I need 20 tons of distributor so I'll skip on that and take 1t of distributor and 2t of shield instead. I get a longer range and I'll be very very surpised if I get into any trouble on the way back home, once i hit the nearest suitable station I can refit again anyway, so no boost is no big deal in my eyes.

Also worth noting that a 7D scoop is cheaper and more effective than a 6C, though if you can afford a big scoop then it sucks up fuel extremely quick, you don't really have to do more than kiss each star and you can go on forever even though it can get through 8 tons of juice per jump.

Thats really impressive

If only we could sticky a Anaconda Owners thread..all builds available. I'm out exploring in my ASP atm, hopefully have enough money to get an exploring Anaconda, will have to part ex my python tho.. hopefully get home will elite rank exploring so I'll be like a kid in a candy store @ founders world 10% off....should pay for the fsd ;-)

Lot of hopefullys but hopefully a week in a neutron star field should suffice
