Anaconda Graveyard Mini-Game

Recently a number of people from my squadron visited the Anaconda Graveyard. Whilst it is a nice place to visit once, with all the Anaconda wrecks scattered about, it really felt like a missed opportunity - no ship logs to read, no mats or cargo scattered about, not really anything to explore at all. Hell, even all of the Anaconda's looked the same - no variety in the paint or ship kits! All in all, I'm pleased we went, but left feeling rather underwhelmed by it all.

So whilst we were stuck there (I wanted to wait around for everyone on the carrier to have a chance to visit, and with lots of timezones, that means a lot of hanging around), a few of us came up with a mini-game that was actually a hell of a lot of fun, and actually surprisingly felt quite balanced.

It's a game of fox and rabbit with SLFs and SRVs. You have one (or more I suppose) SRVs on the planet surface acting as the wabbits. You have two teams (or individuals) in SLFs hunting the wabbit. Make sure you set your ship far enough away and give it orders to hold position! The SLFs are not allowed to come to a full stop, or for added difficulty have to stay at maximum thrust, and have to shoot the SRV. Points are scored for destroying the SRV. Of course, the SLFs can shoot each other to prevent point scoring, and the SRVs can hide in the Anacondas and are allowed to shoot back.

You'd think that the SLFs would be vastly overpowered, but actually, considering the SRV is so small, can hide, and is invisible on the SLF radar, it really becomes a good hunting game. I whole heartedly recommend it, it's a lot of fun.

The game might work too in other locations, but the fact that the SRV could hide behind stuff really helped. Although there was that one time when the SRV commander's PC crashed and we had no idea, so hunted for ages before realising there was nothing there!
