Anaconda - Observation deck/second bridge

Have just been admiring my Anaconda using the debug camera in the rift. You can see the corridors on side of the ship, the main thing I noticed is the glass dome at the front, have wanted to get a close up for a while, you can see chairs and consoles in the ship, and the doorway leading in. Am thinking it could be used as a science area or just for plain ol sightseeing when on long exploration voyages.

EDIT - damn 2D makes everything look too small, in the rift it is real size, I can even make out the textures on the walls in the lower deck.

Hmmm, I'd forgotten all about this. I think I'll have to bob back to where my Conda is stored in beta and have myself a good look-see. Thanks for the reminder :)
 
The front, just under the bow. You can't see it from the bridge, but you can see a little bit of it in the fitting screens in the non-beta client
 
The FDL has something similar... on the upper deck, further towards the bow. Looks like a second, smaller cockpit canopy.

Yeah, found it. Looks interesting indeed, can't wait for debug camera/walking around.
 
Is that where the Sidewinder bay will be?

Cargo bay and hanger - Flippin huge :) Pretty sure it can hold more than a sidewinder. These 2D pics just don't do the scale justice, this thing is enormous! Like floating next to an aircraft carrier

I really love the detail and care FD put into the ships in general. And i cant really wait to have all of that being put to use in Game. I think the level of options we will get over time will be second to none. Listening to David Braben, what he always dreamt about and what FD already has on the agenda, Elite: Dangerous will become one of the most complex and featureful games ever created... Actually more a world simulation than a game, with a lot to do and explore. And i am here to discover, what they will throw at us. :)
 
Doesn't the rift have a way to put a small preview window on the desktop that could be used to take pics that arent stereo?

EDIT: I can see that this is the outisde of the ship now, it looks as though the back of the ship is missing in some shots.

Thanks for posting these, are you clipping through the hull? It's so hard to make out on these screenshots.

I am very keen to see these pictures in context of the hull they are under if they are the internals.

I can configure the rift to display on a second screen when I have friends round. I normally have it off when playing playing ED alone, just quickly took these pics because I was so blown away.

am not clipping through the hull, I'm floating near the ship (external shots). It is impossible to translate what I am seeing into a normal 2D screen unfortunately. But you get an idea.

The stereo is not really the issue, just look at one side of the pic. It's how it actually looks that is wrong. Too small and the scale looks weird on a normal monitor, looks like a toy.

^ For what it's worth, I learned about "free fusion" when attending an academic conference of visual perception. With a little practice, you can actually look at these side-by-side images and see them in 3d. It's a little like the old magic eye posters, and requires you to go cross eyed a bit. Under the hood, you are getting each eye to look at a different photo, rather than looking at the same point in space.
