Anaconda Outfitting.

Ive been looking for similar posts but couldn't really find what im looking for. I bought my Conda yesterday and i am having a hard time finding the right outfit for it. I want to do mostly Trading/Combat with it but cant decide if i want more cargo space over better shields and more cargo over a Frame Shift drive interdictor. Also finding the right class slot for those is confusing too.

A7 shields over A6 shields ? Even A5 maybe ? But i doubt its strong enough for combat.

What class for a FSD Interdictor ? Fuel scoop ?

All these modules reduce my cargo space.

So maybe share your builds so i can inspire myself from it.

Thanks all

First you gotto make up your mind. Cargo hauling, fighting, what do you want to do with it.

Everything ! I know its hard to choose but the more i think about it the more i lean towards combat and maybe buy back a type 9 especially for trading. I dont know. I could go for a hybrid spec but it would handicap me in combat. Im taking suggestions.

Interdictin in an Anaconda?
Look at what it costs you to repair 1% hull, then reconsider...
You need big shields for fighting, it is hard to miss an anaconda
Fuel scoop certainly if you do not plan to spend enough on fuel to buy a good viper.. weekly...

Do not go to high with the cargo if you plan on carrying fighting gear or your jumprange will be .. bad.

Consider you need an very heavy power plant and power distributor for fighting outfit, so you will be good with cargo in the 300 units range and that is max in my eyes..

Me personally i see the conda right now more as armed merchant, the capital ship for your big nose gun is only another conda right now.

Turrets are rather buggy right now so you will be in trouble with smaller and more agile ships sitting on your six and blasting away.

It is certainly a ship that punches hard but the upkeep and repair costs are high enough to consider twice taking it into casual combat.

Are you insane? Sell your shields off and go scrape your hull on the insides of the docking bay for a few minutes and see how much it costs to repair.

Now multiply that by the number of interdictions you plan on doing.

Unless money is no object and you're just doing it to grief players in smaller ships it doesn't make any sense.

At this stage I would not take my Conda into combat - I use my Python for that, outfitted as an exclusive kill-ship. There does not seem to be combat-orientated missions available for the Anaconda - hopefully that gets sorted out by the Devs in future. Too much expense/risk for too little reward. I would outfit for trading with a decent amount of weapons for self-defence. Goodness knows the repair bills for the Python due to interdictions is high enough....I would hate to know how much it is for the Conda.

25% hull damage costs 1 mil to repair on my Anaconda.

Good point here. My first plan was to buy a conda for trading and a python for combat. But i love my Conda so much. Thanks for the comment.

Yeah I know........I was on a trading run (shieldless), late at night and I ran straight into a Type-9 as I was exiting the station with my Conda.......Knocked me down to 40% hull IIRC.......Cannot remember now what the exact amount of the repair bill was but needless to say it hurt a wee bitty :D

You definitely want a strong shield and cells for any serious Anaconda fighting. Probably not the best interdiction ship choice, but if you don't care about the money then it's cool I suppose.

Choice is hard. The Anaconda is the ultimate ship but still a lot of people choose to go with a python instead. I think its sad to outfit a conda just for trading when it looks like the ultimate war ship.

War ship. An ship of this class is supposed to be sourrounded by smaller ships keeping the nimble fighters at bay while it slugs out with the other bigger ships.

The python is better at it (or still is, we will see the nerf) due its better turnrate so it can use fixed weapons or gimbals if one likes too.

The Anaconda is and always was armed merchant/frigate, but nothing you take to an dogfight.

Think of it as the maintank in an raid, can soak up a lot of damage, hit hard but an rogue just dances around it and nibbles it to death.

That A4 plasma gun under its nose is to take out big powerfull ships, not hunting the small fighters...

Please folks, do yourself an favour and do not attempt to fly it like an viper, it will be costly.

It is an awesome ship, but not build for it.

I think my go to will be buying back a Python for Combat and my Conda for Trading :(

I think the Anaconda is in a odd place in terms of what kind of ship its supposed to be. Hopefully, ''Wings'' will bring a better purpose for the Anaconda.

Outfitted for trading the Conda beats the type 9 in terms of CR/Hour so its still a good move from the type 9.

More opinions are welcome.

it beats the t9 too in terms of security...... and in cockpit design.. and noises... and style....

Get a D7 shield for combat and when you want to trade just buy an A4. Pretty much every traderoute will have a hi-tech system in it so won't be hard to get parts and you don't lose any money switching back and forth.

Screw this... Everyone is afraid of getting their Conda into a battle...Heck its MIGHTY WAR SHIP. I decided to use the conda for everything. Ill swap the outfits as i need. Yes its not cheap to repair but the ship is glorious and i refuse to let it rust doing only trade with it. That being said:

Im playing hide and seek with Gimbaled class 3 Beam Lasers. Dam its hard to find !
