PvP Anaconda PvP/PVE mixed weapon loadout

Hello guys,

I was forced to create an account because I just studied many topics about anaconda. How to outfit it and I struggle to choose weapons.

First of all Im aware that anaconda isnt a best choice for a PvP ship. I dont want to challenge Fer-De-Lances in dogfights. I want to make loadout good enough to pirate some CMDR traders and asking them to jettison cargo. I would like to use this ship for PvE pirating too or even doing missions with friends.

Please ignore the rest. Focus on weapon load-out. Im only convinced on 4A Multicannon overcharged + autoloader. What else do you suggest and what engineering upgrades?

Thanks for your answers.

Three overcharged Frags with screening shell to kill those that run away.

One or two grom bombs to stop them from running away.

Because they nearly all run away (or log :D)

Be aware a lot of ships can simply outrun an anaconda. Even if you manage to grom bomb them they can still get away easily.

You might want to look into a faster ship for piracy (PvP or PvE) as speed is important for both i would say. The Clipper is an excellent PvE pirate ship and should be fine for PvP against trader types, although you're not going to mass lock the bigger trade ships.

Python doesn't have the speed but its not too slow and does have the advantage of being able to dock at outposts where sometimes you can find the best black market prices.

Are you sure we should ignore the rest? There are some fundamentally unwise decisions in that loadout, pirate-wise, that will make a much bigger difference than your weapons.

I will ignore as requested, but add to bigmaec's advice... If you don't have grom unlocked, throw a small dumbfire rocket on there with high capacity mod and FSD reset experimental. It is like a grom bomb, but gives 6 more seconds for victim to escape. Still way better than nothing especially with mass lock bug broken. (I do not recommend more than 1 FSD/grom hardpoint)

Otherwise the weapon choice is pretty similar to whatever you'd normally use in PvP. Most folks use the smalls for specials like a turreted scramble spectrum lazer or gimballed/turreted long range dispersal cannon. I advise against cascade rails on pirate builds although this is just a preference. My view is, if the victim is advanced enough to properly use SCB, they are likely to escape. It's nearly impossible to pirate a trader who know what they are doing in a well built ship. And if you start taking on dedicated PvP builds with multiple scb from a pirate build you'll rebuy (unless way better than other pilot).

Da big boat is good when ya sail with comrades... unless ya like shott'em and break the cargo hatch.

Me suggest fasta boats like Cobra, Chieftain and Clipper.

I asked to skip the rest because I havent finished adding things and Im more capable to do it alone. However with weapons Im absolutely clueless because I'vent been interested in combat at all to this point.

Right now this is my build where I practice combat PvE

Im using shield generator because I havent unlocked prismatic shield. Reinforced alloy because reactive is right now too expensive for me. Finally I want to make an Anaconda which can obliterate another player if he wont cooperate. I dont plan fighting for long time with one guy so thats why I choose shield generator instead of bi weave. Feel free to comment the rest of the internals.

You should carry a size 6 hangar bay, allowing you to immediately re-deploy when the SLF dies

The only reason to carry a size 5 hatchbreaker is to overwhelm an opponent who has PDT. Only 1 hatch breaker can work on a cargo hatch at a time. So unless that was a deliberate choice on your part, expecting large ships with PDT, consider downsizing it.

No use for KWS in piracy really, and you should probably have a manifest scanner and definitely have a wake scanner. likewise no use for DSS or SRV in piracy. This looks more like multi-role than anything else.

re: "can obliterate another player if he wont cooperate" that has much more to do with the other pilot than your build. Even a medium ship is hugely overwhelming if your victim doesn't know either escape tactics or PvP tactics; and no build you can make will obliterate a CMDR who knows how to run or fight.

Consider using the "short link" feature of coriolis.

Ok I will change my power plant to overcharged and I cant find how to edit things on this forum so sorry for double post.

Armored is almost always better than overcharged in PvP, unless you absolutely need the extra power (common in ships like vulture). Why are you overcharging? Have you tried putting things like cargo hatch and planetary vehicle hangar to priority 5 instead? Also once you swap out some shield boosters for E rated manifest and wake scanner you will save more power. If you insist on carrying KWS then switch to E rated. A rated utilities are very power hungry.

The drawbacks of overcharged are strong: worse heat dissipation and more vulnerable to powerplant module sniping or general module damage.

Great advice^^^ My only exception to the OC rule is for AX builds because those weapons are so power hungry and goids tend not to snipe my power plant.

^This. My trade ships can smoke a lot of ships, an Annie would never even see me. Would be pirates be like "Where did he go?" I run A rated G5 Dirty Drives on all ships including exploration ships so that I can run from anything at any time. If this were a world of birds, I'd be a peregrine falcon. The Serengeti? I'm a cheetah. You want to pirate me, you better be fast and you better be quick on the trigger as I'm usually boosting away and typing in chat "Too fast for you playa. Keep up."

Should I read this with a female Jamaican accent?

Or Beltalowda?
Anyway, there used to be this dude here that posted litteraly everything in Jamaican. Was pretty funny actually. I wonder where he went.
And the 'Banana's are good for you guy', he was funny as well.

On-topic: anybody got a tip for the small slots in the Anaconda? Gimballed anything hardly ever get time on target. And I hate turrets. Doesn't really leave me with much options does it? (Mostly PvE btw, but still, you guys know your builds I reckon)

While you're correct, pretty much any good CMDR in any decent ship will escape a lone pirate no matter what the build

if you can survive a gank you can survive a pirate, as the latter is hamstrung by the fact it's harder to steal than murder, especially if one does comms and such

CMDR piracy largely relies on either other player playing along, or being less skilled
