Anaconda repair costs

Hello all,

I just bought an Anaconda, armed up and I damn love it. It lacks speed and it's theoretically less manouverable than a Cobra, that doesn't shine already, but it's lack of manouverability is counterbalanced by a better fly-by-wire control, and I am able to face small fighters for exactly the time needed to vaporize them in a single sweep. In short, it feels very good.

My only problem is: after having equipped it with reactive alloy, 10% damage to the hull costs about 20,000 credits to be repaired. Due to acouple of bugs (in one instance, I was smashed against something invisible right outside jump speed while approaching the base), I had my hull down to 20% with all the systems heavily damaged. The cost of repairing the systems was less than 1k, while repairing to the hull was approx 90k (this is strange as well: lacks linearity, as I expected 80% repair to cost 160k).

Now, in a bounty hunting mission, you can hopefully gather 10-15k credits all considered; OTOH, it is unlikely to exit an heavy combat with the hull unscratched. 10% hull repair will cost you more than any bounty mission can give. In short, you have to go trade to finance your whim to go bounty hunting. That doesn't feel right...

Also, smashing a viper costs 6k insurance. It feels strange that a scratch on your hull costs 3 times more.

I would suggest reducing the cost of repair for advanced hulls at least by half before going final 1.0; they seem excessively punitive as they are now.

Opinions?

If you make it too cheap then the Anaconda's will just be ramming people.

Think of it this way. In the final game you will only afford an Anaconda when you are highly ranked. By this time you will have higher tier missions and gain more reward for completion so it will not be an issue.

There is already not enough money-sink in game.

You don't have to profit for every action you do in game.

Maybe they are not meant to kill with anaconda? It's a bit overkill.

Don't fly Anacondas for cheap missions. Simple. Use a Viper for ALL combat. It's perfect for it and is cheap to replace if lost or damaged.

As it is in the game as of beta - the Anaconda is a traders Cadillac.
Big traders can afford to do the repairs.

After paying almost 7M for your Anaconda and Armor how can you say a repair bill under 100K is to high? - maybe it's too cheap as it is?

Enough said.

Just take about 15 minutes of your precious time, do two single system routes trading, 300k earned.
Do it two times and you can afford a complete loss, some repairs, fuel and Ammo ;)

I wasted about two million this week on just doing a bit of friendly PvP :D

The Anaconda repair cost is fine I think. A crash with a Lakon 9 cost me about 138k in repairs. You can make that back and more in 10 to 15 minutes with a trade run.

The Conda, in my eyes, is viewed as a battle cruiser, realistically it should be in combat with at least two smaller fighters to support it. as the game is now (meaning in beta) the ship's kinda crippled by the current mechanics and is reduced to a heavy trade ship that's ok in a fight. But with that said, i don't think the price of repairs should be reduced because it is a big ship. Bigger ships, bigger repair bills. Besides, Combat will get a boast in the payout by Final release anyway so i think the Conda is fine as is.
