Hello all,
I just bought an Anaconda, armed up and I damn love it. It lacks speed and it's theoretically less manouverable than a Cobra, that doesn't shine already, but it's lack of manouverability is counterbalanced by a better fly-by-wire control, and I am able to face small fighters for exactly the time needed to vaporize them in a single sweep. In short, it feels very good.
My only problem is: after having equipped it with reactive alloy, 10% damage to the hull costs about 20,000 credits to be repaired. Due to acouple of bugs (in one instance, I was smashed against something invisible right outside jump speed while approaching the base), I had my hull down to 20% with all the systems heavily damaged. The cost of repairing the systems was less than 1k, while repairing to the hull was approx 90k (this is strange as well: lacks linearity, as I expected 80% repair to cost 160k).
Now, in a bounty hunting mission, you can hopefully gather 10-15k credits all considered; OTOH, it is unlikely to exit an heavy combat with the hull unscratched. 10% hull repair will cost you more than any bounty mission can give. In short, you have to go trade to finance your whim to go bounty hunting. That doesn't feel right...
Also, smashing a viper costs 6k insurance. It feels strange that a scratch on your hull costs 3 times more.
I would suggest reducing the cost of repair for advanced hulls at least by half before going final 1.0; they seem excessively punitive as they are now.
Opinions?
