Horizons Anaconda vs Federal Corvette?

I know the Vette is a bigger ship and all, but wondering if a Conda might be more generally useful? I've been a Pythoneer up to now. My main activities are bounty hunting, trading, and missions.

I had a bit of money from <kof kof> certain dealings, and splashed out on a Vette, which i outfitted as best I could with most of 350MCr (with a Jameson discount). I probably need more money to kit it out as it should be, and have recently made another 100MCr moving <kof kof> stuff.

Might have been the learning curve from Python to Vette, but I didn't really like the Vette all that much. I am now considering trading the Vette in on a Conda. I'm keeping the Python, at least for now.

What's the general view? Vette or Conda?

Combat = Vette
Anything else = Conda

Anaconda is the pure multi-role and excels with its jump range, large number of hardpoints and utility mounts. It turns like a 3 legged brick though and is about as slow as one.
Corvette turns gracefully, has better weapons if you can use the 2x huge effectively. Corvette has much reduced jump range and utility mounts.

Personally if I'm doing pure combat I'd take a Vette, FDL, FAS or clipper.
If I am doing missions I'd take a Python (small pads).
If I am doing trading I'd take a Cutter.
If I am doing long range trading I'd take an Anaconda.

The conda is, and has always been better at everything except manoeuvrability than the corvette. It has better a better tank, more firepower, more guns, more internal , and is cheaper.

I've been using an A spec Conda as my main ship for about 4 months now and I use it for the full range of activities including plenty of combat in CZs and Nav beacons.

The new AI was a bit of a shock but with a bit of a load out change and a different combat flying style the ship is even better. I've never lost one yet.

Ive got the admiral rank for the Vette but that jump range puts me off. I should give it a go really and I suppose I will once I get L5 with Farseer so I can mod the Vettes FSD.

Wrong, Corvette has much better shields, better firepower, bigger not more guns and most of all does have bigger internal spaces even if it has one less internal bay.

Conda is king of jump range, cheaper and has a nicer Bridge.

You can fit 7A Shields on both but you can only fit a 7A Shield Cell bank on the Corvette.
On the Conda I had to link 6A and 4A Shield Cell banks. Defeating the advantage of an extra internal bay.

The Corvette straight up can carry more cargo but you would need a short trade run with upgraded FSD.

The Conda makes a better turret platform. But the two small hardpoints at the back are useless except for Missiles or Mining lasers.

The two C4 hardpoints on the Corvette are devastating in an Alpha strike, but you can't rely on turrets there so more pilot skill is required to make them effective.

I've had a look at Forger's vids, and they're very useful.

Is there a canonical list of 360° pitch rates anywhere?

I have yet to rank high enough to buy a Vette on the PC version, but I have one on my Xbox account and it is hands down my favorite ship in the game! :D I have purchased Anacondas several times on the Xbox version since I started playing the game back in June of 2015, but I tended to just use it as an armed freighter. For whatever reason, I don't like using it in combat nearly as much as I do the Corvette. It has a lot to do with weapon placement and overall feel between the two ships.

But as far as overall usefulness... I wouldn't say that the Conda has anything over the Corvette when it comes to a daily driver.

For me... The power management balance on the Vette was better than any other ship I have used in ED, and it allowed me to run my preferred load out of dual C3 beams and Multi-Cannons with ease. Unlike the other ships I use this load out on, the Vette could deliver constant power to the Beams, and basically allow me to keep the "heat" on my target as long as I wanted to hold down the trigger. It was rare that I ran out of power to keep them going. Shields on the Vette are also excellent, and seemed to stay together far longer than any Anaconda build I have used.

When I would switch to my Python for whatever reason, it felt grossly underpowered and WEAK compared to the Corvette. It got to the point that I rarely used any of my other ships, and sold all of them off except for my Python, which I only kept around for landing at Outposts and other smaller pads. If the Vette could land everywhere, it would be the only ship you would ever need in the current game!

That is BIG! Especially now with the much improved AI!

Unfortunately, the ranking system in the game is so damned slow and arduous, that I don't see me reaching Rear Admiral any time soon, which sucks! I could really use a Corvette on my PC account NOW! ;)

Hope that helps.
