Ancient Probe New Horizons

Not even a tiny bit interested. If this is handled in Frontier's usual modus operandi the important information will be in code or hidden in a pictograph or some similar nonsense that can only be deciphered outside of the game on a computer.

We'll probably have to visit the probe 48 times and shoot it until a glowing orb in the shape of a kettle appears mysteriously on it's surface...

I was actually about to ask folks if there was anything new to check out in the game; I guess the answer is this!

However, looks like triangulation will be a complete pig?

Yeah I'm at the coordinates now with no luck. But I will continue to look. If you're on and in open I can wing up, as I'm at the coordinates.

To clarify, I'm assuming those two distances don't add up to the total distance between the two bodies? Or do they?

If the distance between them is less than the sum, it's a circular search area.

I just matched up the two distances by going to Sedna then pointing away from SOL. Then started doing circles at a very slow pace. I don't know if this is the correct way but the area of search is going to be huge, plus Galnet doesn't give us much to go by, except the two distances

...or a goose chase. FDev know as well as everyone that plays this game that a triangulation bearing would at least have been helpful. Without it, we might as well be looking for a black cat inside a coal bunker without a torch.

It's 3 dimensional space after all...so a third bearing isn't like it would be giving the game away.

Just an additional thought; FDev really ought to add some floating mats that don't respawn (for the individual player). That way we actually have some reason to visit after initial discovery.

Seeing as now it has been found you don't need to comment here anymore, plus I'll request for the thread to be closed. I'm sorry I'm so ignorant to your views and thoughts. But you've basically just trolled this thread. Your input wasn't needed. It was a simple thread asking if anyone was looking. Nothing bad or even to debate really.
